Eccles’ expanding range of Surface Boxes and Access Covers – designed and engineered to be fully compliant to British Standards within the Utilities sector – are available in a wide range of loadings and choice of high performance materials including ductile iron, composite and steel.
Our BS 5834 Grade A MultiGrip surface boxes are manufactured from high strength ductile iron, offering superior durability and performance.
Our access covers meet the stringent requirements outlined by BS EN124:2015 for vehicular and pedestrian access.
Our NEW Endurance range of ductile iron access covers and frames exceed the requirements of DMRB CD534 (v 0.1.0), a technical regulation for motorways and all-purpose trunk roads.
In addition we hold our own BSI Kitemark license KM656300 for the Standard EN124-2:2015.

DUCTILE IRON SURFACE BOXES
Our MultiGripTM range of Grade A (BS-5834) high performance ductile iron double triangular surface boxes are suitable for use in areas where cars and lorries have access, including carriageways, hard shoulders and pedestrian zones.
D400 (Group 4) – capable of withstanding a 400kN (40 tonnes) test load.

Our surface boxes adhere to BS 5834-2 which specifies requirements for surface boxes to be used with guards and underground chambers designed for the purposes of utilities, including those intended for factory infill, having a maximum designated overall clear opening of 450mm x 450mm.
